electric i think.
the 450er is electric start and the 450r is kick start only.
I have ridden one (06) They are pretty fast but wheelie machines very hard to keep the front end down. They handle great for trails depending on the rider. if your tall or going to be when your done growing they are pretty comfy but very tippy feeling. Nothing some wider arms snd suspension tuning couldnt fix but stock they suck. Im 6'1 and felt like I was sitting on a clydesdale horse when I rode it but youd have to try it I guess. The motor was very soft down low but had tons on top to play with but was very hard to keep it in the sweet spot. It either had too little or too much. For xc or trails it would be a great bike but track style my moneys on the suzuki. I sat on a yfz and It felt like I was on a smaller quad everything was cramped. On a raptor 700 though I felt right at home.

I predicted Honda doing something to improve the suspension/handling on the 450r ??? but I guess thats Honda for ya :-/
