So I went to change my oil the other night and noticed the drain plug is rounded I tryed vice grips with no luck tryed diff socket no luck I've exhausted ideas can anyone help with this

You could try to cut a slot in it with a dremel and use a flathead screwdriver or drill. Then replace the nut.

edit: Don't forget eye protection if you dremel metal out!

Ive had the same problem, Turn the gas off, set the bike on it back grab bar, and get a punch/chisel and put a notch in it then slightly tap it with a hammer till it starts turning. I hope this helps

Use a small pipe wrench Coty..
 
Ill have to try the chisel thing and pipe wrench thing for sure thanks guys

This happened to my friends, he stood it up like said and got some vice grips on there.
 
Unfortunately vice grips don't seem to get a grip on the plug they spin even on crazy tight

You should be able to use a screwdriver and hammer just be careful cause its a cheap metal
 
i just recently had to use a chisel on mine. works like a charm. made a second incision just cause i didn't want to move. very very easy. when i replaced it, evidently Yamaha has superseded the stock part for a newer one with probably twice the surface area as the stock one. i could be wrong here but after the round on the socket and the drain plug i think you only have about 1/8" depth to work with. the new part is sooooooo much easier to crank on.
 
I've delt with several like this. Take a 12 point socket ( 11/16 usually gets it done) and drive it on with a hammer. Take it slow and it'll break free. Flip the bike up on end, too. It'll give you a better handle on the ratchet, and keep it straight on the drain plug.

Mine was chewed to **** when i got my bike too. I think i ended up pounding on an 18mm socket and it worked, depending on how bad yours is it's either that or hammer & chisel time. My local shop had a drain plug in stock, i think it was 12 bucks.

I tryed the 11/16 it's stuck on the plug still trying to break it free but it seems to be spinning to its pretty round it's just about chisel time cause I'm sick of this damn thing

All of the oil in the head ran out of the head because you had it on end for so long. Once you started it, the oil had to be pumped back up into the head. May quiet down on it's own. You may want to check your valve adjustment, because if it ran without oil long enough, it could have added some wear to the rockers, and adjusting them could quiet it down, if they are out of adjustment that is...
 
Hey pat what are specs for valve adjustment on the warrior it was doing fine ran great for about 10-15 min and then started clacking and ticking
