Well im not sure if thats the exact name, but thats what the guy i bought my biek from called it. Buts its basically a metal ring big enough to go around the axle that bends in on one side. I hope someone knows what im talking about. But The guy said he didnt have the part when he changed the bearings so i needed to put it in if i rode in any mud or water. Does anyone know what im talking about? If so i need to know if its important and how to put it in.
 
The only thing I can think of is the seals for the axle carrier. If he replaced the bearings and didn't put new seals in he's a moron. Wow. But yeah, you better have those if you're even going to wash the thing with water. They're like 5 bucks a piece, so i'm baffled about why somebody wouldn't install them.
 
yes, and they're probably easier to install than the bearing itself. i agree... what a moron.
