i gave the carb some time for the throttle springs to break in about (2-3 months)...
....anyways, after about 1.5-2.5 hours of wet riding the throttle started sticking in the low rpm range...i believe this could be the spring also. how could i fix this?

it will stick but not wind out real high, but will seem like its idleing high...so you tap (burp, belch ETC.) the throttle and it goes back to normal

WHATS THE DEAL?

The first thing I would do is spray wd40 on all the moving parts on the outside of the carb, since they're exposed to the elements water and mud could be making the external parts stick. If that doesn't work the next step would be to take the slide out and make sure it's operating smoothly and not getting hung up on it's tracks.

i know the slide is good, and i aways spray it but the wd40 only lasted for the 2-3 hours of riding, is theyre anything else i can lube it with that will last longer?

You can get white lithium grease in a spray can, and that doesn't wash off very easily like wd does. Just use it with moderation, becasuse like all grease it can make a mess.

Did you put the plug back in the top of it, or did you leave the adjuster in it? Theres nothing wrong with leaving the adjuster in as long as you keep it dry, water can go directly down to the slide, i had that problem, also check your cable and lube it.

Hmm.. Never had this problem and I road through ice/snow, water, sand, mud, dirt, etc...

Are you sure your throttle cable is routed right?

What is sticking - the slide itself or the cable?

either the cable or the spring is not bringing the cable/slide all the way back

make sure u have the cable routed right cauyse if u doint it will have no slack in it at all then it will rev up whe ideling cause it has no slack in the cable the carb should have no prolbum at all i run mine in mud and water all the time with no prolbum at all but check the cabe roughting

I had the cable prob last rebuild...basicaly you want to make sure its not snagged on anything and there isnt alot of ****..wires and stuff all around it to prevent any loose movement.

Cable is routed the same as the stocker was...

Could be time for a new cable as well, or a hella cleaning.....as for the carb i dont know much about Edlebrock's..lol

well its something in the carb have u played with it at all sence u got it there should be no prolbum with it at all if so put it back the same as u had it or just make sure all the bolts are tight on it it will draw air and it will stick a bit to

[quote:tg0mk14f]Never been messed with since we got it

thing was soo hard to install, i didnt want to have to redoo it[/quote:tg0mk14f]

so hard what was hard about it may i ask im not trying to be a ass but take the carb apart and put a little drop of oil in the slider and make sure every thing is clean

the airbox and intake boot have noo room...the airbox holes dont line up...and it took 3 hours to clamp the hoses and try to put the air box in

That's sad, Justin. From the time I opened up the box it took me about an hour before I had mine completely installed and running. (actually I installed it, removed it, and installed it again within that hour because I missed the part of the instructions where it said to attach the idle cable)

I think someone's exagerating...

shut up, you should have heard yourself, swearing and throwing stuff around the garage...and if it isnt that hard to install than why isnt our airbox in the right way
