Ok so I am new here to the forum and have been getting some nice reading on here so far. This is my issue. I just got a 2001 yamaha warrior in trade. It is having a few issues that seem to be frustrating me to the point of no return. I will list them and hopefully get some great feedback and assistance.
1. the push start button is not working at this moment. going to the start button is a red wire with white stripe and a green wire with yellow stripe. Both are bare and looks like they attempted to just twist the wires back together and no electrical tape over them.
2. i was able to test drive it but doing the solenoid jump. started up right up and idled fine. took it out this past weekend to ride and started up again just fine then let it warm up about 10 min on idle. went to go ride off and no sooner then i got on the throttle it backfire with a little flame out of the exhaust. Now i can not even get it to start. turns over fine with "noid" jump but getting no spark from plug. pulled the plug and the plug was black on tip. tested the ignition coil and plug cap and got no spark with plug out. Have a running blaster and tried the coil from it and got no spark. went as far as i could i testing until battery got low from trying to turn over. also noticed in the back where the rectifier is that there is a wire alone back there is a solid blue wire with a wire cap on it. any help would be appreciated and i can definitely show pics if that helps if you would like just PM your number to text them. Thank you all in advance for any assistance

Also if anyone is near the Nashville area or clarksville area that would be great as trying to get it ready to ride

test the stator and pickup coil with a multimeter. Put it on ohms and touch the positive to one contact and the negative to the other. One should be around 300 ohms and the other 500 ohms.
