engine swap questions

Wifes 99 warrior lost the transmission.. Got a good deal on an 87 motor and figured id swap it in just to get her going..

I understand that some electrical stuff needs swapped but im getting conflicting answers on the swap..

Do i swap the the stator and magnito(flywheel) from the 99 engine onto the 87 engine? Or do i swap the wire harness over and keep the 87 ignition on the 87 engine..

Id rather just do a stator flywheel swap then a wire harness.. If its not possible ill split the cases and swap the tranny parts..

just swap the stator and magnito from the 99 into 87 motor then the 87 motor will work with the 99 harness
