just wonderin if i can use the cleaner kit for a car on a foam filter for the quad?...we have a K&N kit and a Air Hog kit...it is a pro design filter

You can not use oil designed for gauze filters on a foam filter if that's what you're asking. The foam oil is thicker and real sticky like glue, and the k&n type oil is thin and isn't sticky.

yeah but all that pj1 and uni cleaner is 15 bucks for a kit and you can only find them on ebay and rockymountain

go to a damn powersports shop, uni oil is only like 6 bucks a can.

It's a bad idea to try to use something else, it's an oil designed specifically for foam filters, and with anything else you would be taking a risk at damaging your motor. How can you be spending so much money on mods lately but not be able to spare 6 bucks on basic maintainance? Damn, boy, it's just a few bucks!

for a foam filter you wash it with soap (don soap) and water let air dry then sue motor oil and poar the oil on the filter and squeeze the ezcess oil out of it then you are done

like I said earlier, foam filter oil is really sticky to grab the dirt and hold it. Motor oil isn't as thick or sticky, so you're taking a risk of it letting dirt slip past.

Not to mention oil into the motor, last time i used motor oil and beleive me i brushed it on the surface with my hands too not even the squeezing method. And my whole intake was coated with oil, last time i did that, maxima fab 1 has been the best ive used. Dishsoap doesnt take it off either you have to use gas or one of those chemical cleaners.

I used a bottle of no toil on my durablue foam filter and I have less than half left. I spilled it everywhere and it got all over me though. I may have put way too much on but I squeezed the hell out of it until none leaked out.
