I recently picked up an 88 Warrior that needs some TLC. One of the things it needs is a new caliper piston and seal on the front right. I know the 87/88's use a few specific parts, calipers/brakes being one of them. I've found a set of 89+ calipers for a decent price. Will these bolt up to my machine? Or will I need the spindles and associated hardware from the newer one too? Looking at part numbers online, I don't think it will be a direct swap. But I figured I'd ask before buying the stuff to rebuild my calipers.

That's what I thought. Oh well guess I'll bust out the caliper hone.

None of us first gen guys have done the caliper swap so I couldnt tell u for sure but bones or gen1pat could tell you. I dont think the caliper mounts are different though lol

Have no clue. I know that the front pads are different fron 1st to 2nd gens. I'd have to look on the parts fiche and compare numbers.

I just looked up the caliper parts numbers. They are different. I didn't compre the actual caliper pictures in detail. But, the biggest thing I sell that is different, is that the 1st gens have an inspection plug that you remove to check the amount of wear that the pads have; and the end gens don't.
