this is the first air box FSR has built so far so this box that you see in the pics is the prototype which i am running on mine as we speek i will change the pics when i get a updated pics of this box.

Now on the the box!

It is constructed of .130 ABS plastic which is fire retardant and heat resistant my its molecular make up.
It is made up of multiple pieces of plastic (due to not having access to injection molding or a aluminum welder.) that is held together with rivets and sealed with epoxy resin to be water tight everywhere except the air intake(s).
the over-all box length is actually shorter (then the factory warrior or the discontinued UM racing air boxes) which allows the box to set more to the rear of the machine but in doing so this means the snout will need to be longer to be able to reach the intake boot to the carb. But doing it this way gives you 1.5 inches of snout which is very handy when adjusting the carb-to-motor manifold length on some aftermarket carbs or to adjust for differing carb over-all lengths.
The box is also adjustable intakes upon request they can either breath in through the top, or the back, or both as shown in the pictures, to provide protection against mud and water and they can come with velcrow on rear or top panels to make the box semi water resistant (upon requested)

Note the snout is white in the pictures of the prototype, it will be black on the finished product

i think that is about it

now to the pictures,

eliminated the clearance issues that the UM boxes had

i believe these boxes just the box not the filter or screen intake covers, are going to be around $60+shipping

I would the stock air box no lid with a custom intake tube from Mickey at fourstroketech. If you want to get wild you can cut up the box some more.

i tried that setup and it wouldn't flow like i wanted it to, this is the best setup ive came up with this is the 6th intake setup ive tried/built (not counting the intake length changes) and currently this is the best running one

oooo please tell me more about this intake tube

basically its a different intake tube to promote flow from the carb to head

i have something similar on mine now it alows for longer intake lengths therefore better mid range tq which mine built more high end hp after all was said and done mine is 3.125 from head to the edge of the slide but doing that throws a big kink in the breather tube which is partially why i built the box like i did

No, it's a hard tube that runs from the carb to the box. Then use a raptor intake manifold. That is what Mickey likes to run in his 446cc stroker. For the beather line you can just run a heater hose to a filter and put it anywhere you want, so it doesn't effect what you want to do with your intake. This setup will flow more then enough air for your needs.

Longer intake tube lengths hurt high rpm horspower but promote low rpm torque and response.

Really cool. Good thinking. I can't run it thou, to much mud and water and dust is my every day ridin conditions.

I've always been under the impression that longer intake runners like tunnel ram setups were for high rpms. im sure it all depends on total displacement to decide what is "long"

thats in theory on most motors but thats not how mine reacted to a longer intake im sure there is a optimum intake length and i have not found it... yet

Really thtd b pretty sweet actually ill b in touch trying to buy a truck right now but will deff let uk
