I just got these:

Do I just pull the old hose off and replace with the new shortie? I'm sure it's super easy, just don't want to break anything or have to buy a new filler cap.

Your correct. Pull the existing hose and slide it in the cap. Pretty easy.
One thing to be sure of though, make sure the vent works. I got one off of eBay and the damn thing would not vent.

Cool, thanks. Is there an easy way to check if it working? Sniff it for fumes or something?

Damn cheap Chinese crap. I'll keep an eye on it! Thanks for the tip.

Currently trying to find my key, don't remember where I put it down yesterday!

edit: Seems OK for now, I can smell fumes coming from the tip of the thing. I'll post back here if any problems with vapor lock or anything.

If you take the hose and blow thru the hose end and it comes out the hole in the cap, it works.

Yep they all work with that test. I think it'll be ok. If I run into problems I'll either put the stock hose back on or put it back on cut in half. I tuck it down into the steering column anyway, just like the look of the metal cap on the short vent.

edit: Don't think I'll ride much today if any. Got some real good bruises yesterday from some stupidity of my own, pretty sore today. Good to have a friend or two to head out with on trails! And that freakin winch I have saved us about 4 times.
