ok today on my day off i decided to take my yz426f out to ride sence my warrior i have down rebuilding it and i was cruseing along when all of a sudden i smelt sumething buring and i looked down and saw gas pouring every where i shut the bike off and layed it over so the gas would not keeping going over the hot motor and after it leaked it all out i pickd it back up and examed it i got a toe back to the truck and took the tank off and saw the guy i got it from had put silicone on the tank in the spot it was leaking i need help on some ides that would work for sealing it up ive tried epoxey and that failed miserbially so im up for almost anything i was thinking of tking the tank back off and take every thing off of it the mounts and petcock off and run water throught it and ste under for a few minits then bust out the torch and reheat the plastic and melt it back to a new bond idk if it blows up in my face that where insurence comes in at lol but it should not im open for any info thanks kyle

I'd try melting some filler plastic into the crack with a soldering iron. That way you don't have to worry about an open flame blowing it up. I don't know if there's any epoxies out there that will work, gasoline dissolves a lot of that stuff.

yea thanks ill try to do it at work tomarrow on my lunch break and let it set for a day with gas t omake sure it will not leak anymore i hope so i just did some work to the thing and now find somehing eles rong with it is a pain in th ass

JB WELD... If that **** doesnt work the nnuttin willl... Jb weld is the best ******* thing in my book...

" Jb weld is the best ******* thing in my book... " Nope, marine tex is the best, gas wont hurt it either, grandpa but it on a cracked motor in his old truck and it still runs fine today.

i tred that jb weld stuff i used it bofor on stuff for transmissions when teh bolt flange broke off and well it worked good i hope this will work cause i have sunday off and i want o go riding again for a full day and hope fully bring the head cam and make a vidoe if i can

We had a carb on an old work truck get a hole in the side of it and JB weld held it really well.
Also on one of my 4X4's it had a plastic tank that a piece of metal ended up going through and JB weld held it pretty well too, but only for about 6 months at a time. I ended up using some fiberglass cloth resin on it and it held 4ever.

i half to try that next if the jb weld dont work they guy i got it from works with me he said that sa aftermarket tank on ther now he said he might still have the stocker somewhere at his house hes going to look this weekend when hes goes back to his house but hope fullely teh jb weld will work i put it on last night and its finally dry so im gona test it after i get off work and see how it works i cleaned it all up yeasterday and there is a few pinholes in it i put exter in that area well ill let u guyes no if it works

they are pretty cheap on ebay.

i got the other one the guy had in his garage he found it lastnight i went to his house and picked it up this moring and slaped it on ther and yay no leaks been wanting to see that for a while now i can go riding tomarros sence the shop is closed ill try to get some pics of where i ride at

depends on how big the hole is. i have a screw in mine. ive had it in there for like the last two months and about 5 full tanks of gas has been in it and it never leaked.

the old tank had a hole in a new place every time i heated it u with a trch and it would pass the test when not on teh bike but when u got it on ther and ran it for a few the tank would melt again
