hard to start, need idea's and help!

hi my warrior is having a few issue's and I'm just trying to figure out why it's acting up, here's what happens when turning the engine over (usually takes 5-10 mins with a fully charged battery), it seems to be just slightly slower then needed to start the engine. when letting off of the switch it coughs and almost fires. then it backfires from the exhaust (loud backfire just like a gunshot with flame) and then it will start. after it's warmed up a little I have no other issue's, it starts right up idles and runs perfect! so any help or idea's would be greatly appreciated.

You try a valve adjustment? Also have you done a compression test?
