Looking over my downloaded manual since Im prepping for my motor build. It says flanged bolts 29 ft/lbs and hexagon bolts 14 ft/lbs. Unfortunately about it its in a scanned black and white, so I believe some of the numbers in the torque sequence are hidden. Since this is the biggest parts going in I wanna make sure this is going correctly. And yes I know I should probably buy a paper manual!!

Any help here would be great. My head should be at the engine shop tomorrow, so Ill be hopefully putting it together sometime next week.

Why thank you sparky!! Thats gonna help loads, well atleast the last pic you posted. The first one is perfectly visible on my pdf manual.

Looking at the head from the left side (cam cover side), it's the front allen 1st, rear allen 2nd, front left head bolt 3rd, rear right head bolt 4th, front right 5th, left rear 6th. I'm almost positive that is the sequence they show. I always do the flang bolts first in the order they say to do them, then I do the two allens last.

Ya figured the ones around the cylinder are the most important. Im being extra picky with this since the cometic EST head gasket is a MLS. Im having my engine machinist check the top of the sleeve/jug to make sure its flat to. I wanna make sure this seals the first time!!

I just make sure that the head's surface is decked and true. You may find that the two rivits that hold the gasket layers together are in the way, and will prevent the mating surfaces from sealing properly. I had this issue, and had to remove the rivits. Hope your engine is out of the frame. Cause it is "fun" to get the head on, with 3 layers of gasket shifting around, whiling trying to get the timing chain guides in the slot.

Motor is coming out of the frame. The jug and head are some extra's I got from akaguppy last year, just for this reason. Did my old 98 with inframe and it was a pain. Never agian. I didnt make it down to the machine shop today so maybe I can see if the rivits are gonna be an issue for me.
