Where do you guys get these things? I just put a brand new warrior hood on my 87 so now I have this opening where headlights would be. The hood looks way better but I'd love to get one of those pieces.

They're custom made. There was a guy on this site a while back that made them and sold them, but he hasn't logged on since november or something. I think your best bet is to get a sheet of thin aluminum and try making one yourself. I don't think it would be too hard with a jigsaw and some spare time.

Some material you might want to try could be street sign's (you can find them in quite a few antique stores, Don't steal them from roads ;) ). And on top of that they are relatively cheap, and you won't have to worry about them rusting/tarnishing. Just sand it up a little, and then it can also be painted.
Though the only problem with it would be the shaping of them, i'm not sure (yet) how they react to heat, and bending. I'll do some experimenting in my garage w/ a Dead End sign I have, and I'll let you know.

p.s. about the sheet metal under me. yea it would be a Lot easier, but less durable, a good sized rock (from roost) branch could put a hole in it. that's the only bad thing i could think about it.

Having 'just a little bit' of sheetmetal fabricating experience, I think you'll find US DOT spec road sign will be pretty tough to work with- unless you have a power brake.

If you are getting hit with roost large enough to damage one similar to the one Warriorspeed posted, you are going to have bigger problems than having to make a new cover.

heh thinking about it, I could see what you mean. I haven't tried working with it yet, and the only materials I have working with is steel/welding, and braizing/soldering with copper. But I figured an acetylene torch, a vice, grinder and a hammer w/ annealed/still hot metal should of worked. If i'm able to build one that works out well. I'll post a pic.
But first to get a Warrior to get some measurements off of. Unless someone wants to measure the mounting points, gap width, gap height, gap length, and current length of a cover that they have on now.
thanx

I'm buying one atm, going to talk to the guy today in person. I've been speaking with him via emails... Also picking up a set of Works front shocks, +2 a arms, and a 2+2 durablue.
