Ok so I know that many people have broken their header studs in the engine block before, but has anyone successfully removed them on their own? Or do you guys think I should take it to a shop and pay someone to get them out?

Is it sticking out any? If so get a nut and screw it on then tack weld it to the stud, then wrench it out like you would a bolt.

Sometimes I am able to start with a small bit and work up gradually with a little larger bit each time until I get the hole just a little bit smaller than the original threads of the stud, then i pry or peel the threads out of the hole. It's a little time consuming but it usually works. I don't like easy outs cuz they usually break off inside the bolt and that just makes it worse. And this way, I don't have to re-tap the hole.

Very small screwdriver or punch. Anything I can get ahold of it with. Come from the side and cave it in to the hole.

what exactly do you mean by over size the studs? and when i do get it out should I buy a bolt or something?
