I have a 1997 350 that cranks and runs slow fine. But will brake down on hi rev. I have cut park brake limiter in clear. Carb, coil and plug is ok. Is it the CDI? I hate to buy one . Is there a test I can do to check it out. If you have any sugesstions please let me know. Thanks RNM

Come on, I thought one of you electrical guys would have a answer for me by now. If not maybe some body has a spare CDI for sale. Please post. Murray.

The parking brake was my thought, but you tested that already. Does it seem to rev higher than it would with the parking brake on? When I first bought my wolverine every now and again it would cut out like the parking brake was on, normally a little higher in RPM though. I found the problem to be the carb boot was not clamped just right and was leaking. I know it sounds odd but it was just like when the brake was on! Either way, it dont cost anything to check the boot, and if thats the problem will save you on a CDI.
