**** my dad is getting so ******* pissed at me because it doesnt start! I think the battery is broken because I keep charging it and the battery power just drains and I have to charge it again? What do you think?Battery?Something else?

When you "charge" a battery fully and it drains almost instantly or very shortly it means it’s ****** and you need a new one.

*You can’t test a battery by voltage, even the totally **** ones can register with in acceptable range; a load test is in order - you cranking the motor is a "load test" in a sense.

Ya well I try to start it and it sounds like the battery doesnt have enough power! Oh my dad says,"oh its a new battery and you charged it all night!"(I bought the battery last year)

wat do the lights look like? if they are dim then charge ur batterey if there bright then idk

Is this the battery that started leaking acid all over when it was on the charger? If it is, buy a new one.

Its is.I wanna buy a new one but I need a reaso to convince him not just tell him,"oh its the battery"

and the lights are normal

The fact that you boiled the battery because you put way too much charging current into it sounds like a good enough reason to me.

Yeah, that is a good reason. You have to read the instructions on them things. They are supposed to use a very low amp charge or you fry the battery.

check how full each cell is...pull the plugs and check...you may need to refil with distilled watter...if it is completly dead charge it with another quad for 10-20 minutes...that did it on my battery when i thought it was fried

Well, there's your justification- it's fried from the recharge.

And since he put it on the charger, ask him to pay for it- or part of it....

Can't hurt to try.

yeah ...doesnt work for u!! ;D kidding

go to wallyworld and get ya a 29.00 battery for cryin out loud

your lights take alot less voltage to be on then starting for quad.. they can be bright as hell and there still not enough juice to kick over your engine...

But, if your lights are on and you try to start it with a weak battery the lights will usually go completely out or at least dim very bad.

they didnt with mine... i havent run my quad in a while due to not having time to take her out and riding her... (stupid girls they get in the way of every thing ::) ::) ;)).. but n/es i had my light on and they were bright and when i went to start it my lights didnt dim or go out and my starter just clicked and wounld turn over my motor ... but i just hooked up a charger to her for a minute and she came alive once agian..... :D
