when my warrior is under lower RPM's and i give it a good shot of gas, it wont give power to the wheels right away.It will give power right away when its at mid range or high RPM's. I'll have to feather it under low RPM's. I think it should give power really whenever you want it to, but this is my first quad so im not an expert. Dont call me stupid if its just regular!

thanks,
chris.

it is/isn't normal. The stock carb isn't the greastest thing ever invented, but when it's working properly you have to give it a pretty quick *** for it to bog down and hesitate. You can take the carb off and check the accelerator pump operation. Take the carb off, but leave the fuel line connected and turned on, and put your safety glasses on (don't want gas in your eyes, it burns like a bitch). In the filter side of the carb bore, you should see a brass needle sticking out towards the center, with a hole pointing one direction. The hole should be facing the other end of the carb, so gas shoots straight down the throat. Open the throttle quickly, and watch for a stream of gas to shoot out. Every time the throttle is opened quickly another shot of fuel should pump out. Post your results on here. If you don't get a shot of fuel, we'll figure out the problem from there.

ok, thanks dude, im probly not gunna be going out to my uncles where my quad is in his barn this weekend cause of the rain, and me and my buddy are starting our band saturday so that day is gone. i'll have to get after my dad to do this. is it hard or time consuming to do this? would there also be another reason why it is doing this?

i just talked to my dad and he said it could be a result of the airfilter being dirty/clogged from the dust i ride in. when i go out we're gunna clean the airfilter and see if that does anything. then if not, we'll look at the carburator

It's possible that a dirty air filter would cause that problem, but the accelerator pump getting stuck is a common problem on these, so it's probably one or the other. Checking the accelerator pump, and even correcting the problem if one exists isn't very difficult or time consuming. It might take an hour to take the carb off, check the pump, and then put it back together the first time you do it, and all you need is a few basic tools.

ive notcied that if you let the quad warm up for a while the problem is less notciable, it dosent hesitate as much, if you rev mine cold many times it will bog and if you dont back off it will kill, you can adjust your idle screw a little higher so it isnt as noticable at the low rpm's too.

i always let my quad warm up before taking off. i put the choke on if it needs it and let it sit for maybe a minute. i have just been thinking that maybe its not idiling right or something like that. i am saving up for a new ampliphier for my guitar right now so i dont want to be spending the money ive saved up. but how much money would a better carburator cost and a pretty cheap one. (dad doesnt like the idea of buying from ebay) IF the guys in my band are not gunna go to the drummers house i am gunna bug my dad to go out and clean the airfilter and maybe do some tweaking to see if it helps.

Buy an Edelbrock ;D.
or a new bike ::)[/quote:9owz89va]
I would love to get a new bike BUT my dad would say "this one is fast enough" or "start saving up" or some **** like that. my dad thinks im gunna kill myself but im not stupid, i know not to push it when im in certain areas. If you could find me a good bike for around $3,200 canadian or a LITTLE bit higher and its close to me area call me! ;) haha

If your dad doesnt like buying from ebay he can buy an Edelbrock carburetor from me. I can get you one for pretty close to ebay price - I am a Edelbrock dealer as well as one for pretty much ALL the popular companies out there.

sounds good! i'll have to wait till i can clean the airfilter so i can see if thats the problem. dont think its gunna happen this weekend though :(
