Hey whats up Everyone. Last week i went to El Mirage and when i opened it up and went full throttle in 6th gear it started sputtering. It didnt backfire real loud or die or anything but it was sputtering. Has this ever happened to anybody before?? Is this a jetting problem or something else. I had a GYTR PIPE and GYTR jet kit put in by a Yamaha dealer and I am running with the Airbox lid off with K&N w/ Outerwears. The receipt ssaid they installed a 22.5 Pilot and 55 Main. Everything else feels great on my Bike and definate notice in Powergain its just the Sputtering that i just noticed. Can somebody Please give my some advice. I still have the rest of the Jets if i need to change something. Is there a good sight with pics that will show me step by step how to rejet my 2005 Raptor 350 if this is the problem?? I suck at Mechanics and will definately need a step by step tuturial. Thanks Everyone! ~Raskal

Sounds like a jetting issue, or possibly just a dirty air filter throwing off your jetting.

You're going to have to figure out if you're jetting is right by yourself, the sputtering could be caused by either an extreme lean condition or an extreme rich condition. Just warm it up, do a full throttle run for 10-15 seconds, then pull in the clutch, kill the engine, and drift to a stop. Take out the spark plug and check the color of the ceramic part of the tip.

Thanks Yamarider i will try this this weekend. The Sputtering only happens when I am full throttled in sixth gear! Thanks again! ~Raskal

yea jetting is a b but once u get it down ur can do it just mess with air and fuel mixture screw if it still aint running after u clean ur filter
