intake boot ???????

ok guys here is one for you!!!!!!!! the intake boot, what it its soul perpuse is it to take the vibrations from the engine, or to reduce the heat from the engine. im was thinking about machining a intake adapter to replace the rubber boot and make it a little longer to get it a little farther away from the engine to stay coolier

what do you guys think about it..... good idea or not

Its not going to change the performance because the carb is cooler, although, it will run a little better with a longer intake tube, but you will put the tube to the air box in a bind, not worth the trouble with a stock carb IMO but if you have a aftermarket carb it will help it more
