Is the carb needle supposed to be bent at the tip?

I'm sure this is a really stupid question, but I really don't know much about carburetors. I took the needle out the top of the carb, and it was bent. I'm guessing this isn't how it's supposed to be, but I want to double check.

I took it apart earlier and I guess I bent it while I was putting it back in. I don't remember being rough on it though...
