OK, I took everyone's advise and jetted up. You were right. No Rev limiter. but it is still not right. It revs out pretty good now. Not like my friends' warriors but it is way better. But now I Bog out at bottom end. I am running a 160 main jet but anything smaller and I have no top end. I checked over everything and no vac. leaks. What the hell??????? opened up airbox lid , pro circuit ti-4 exhaust, and k + n...that is it. i don't get it. Any help? By the way...stock airbox lid on does not help....

does it bog right when you hit the throttle, or is it constantly doing it at low throttle? If it's only right when you hit the throttle you probably didn't get the accelerator pump put back in right after you jetted it.

Adjust the valves.

They are prolly out of wack and throwing your mixtures off, happened to me before. A 160 mainjet is too big for the mods you have at the very most you should be running like a 155. But it also depends on your elevation.

Well, i am at about sea level as far as elavation goes. The only reason I ever started with the jetting was due to running out of fuel. that was why I originally thought that I had a rev limiter or something. I tried a 150,152.5,155,157.5 all still getting the type of "rev limiter" reaction at top end. Then the 160 made it rev out nicely. The plug looks good and it doesn't smoke at all. It just bogs if i wack the throttle from idle in first gear. If I ease in and then hit it it feels great. Where is the accelerator pump. Also, what pilot jet should I be running? Could that be a problem?

If it's just when you hit the throttle quickly i'm 90% sure it's the accelerator pump giving you trouble. It's impossible to get rid of that bog completely with the stock carb, but when the accelerator pump is working properly it's good enough for normal riding.

To get your accelerator pump working you will need the plastic side cover and the bowl removed from the carb.

on the left side of this picture you can see the accelerator pump sticking up with a spring on the end. If yours doesn't have the spring you probably dropped it when you were swapping jets(that's how I lost mine) The spring out of an ordinary 'click click' pen works as a perfect replacement.

After you're finished with that put the bowl back on.

Next step is to push the rubber boot down over the pump, if it isn't already. It's the rubber thing in the bottom right corner of the carb in the next picture

Now open and close the throttle, and look to see if a plastic arm comes down and pushes the accelerator pump down, and that the pump pops back up when the throttle is released. If it does then your problem should be solved. You can hook the carb back up to the fuel line and work the throttle until the accelerator pump starts to squirt fuel into the throttle body if you want to make sure it's working.

I tried to make that as clear as possible, but let me know if you can't figure something out.

Thanks, I'll give it a try as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for the pix too! I am waiting for a new intake to arrive as mine dry rotted and cracked when I was messing with the carb. But I'll see if this works for me.

I hope that works for you. I got the pics out of the jetting instructions in the tutorials section.

I had 2 of those intake manifolds crack on me in the last year, so you're not alone with that. The second one was only a month old when it broke, but I think it was a factory defect, because it broke all the way off as I was taking it back off.

If I knew yours broke I would have sold you mine. Since I bought the edelbrock I don't need it anymore, and it's only a couple months old.

How much do you want for it as I could always use a spare and have friends who are starting to mod their warriors as well so I am sure they will eventually run into this as well. Does the edelbrock come with a new intake?

I made the fixes that were made. My accelerator pump was not working at all. i had the spring in the wrong place. But i still have a little bit of a bog. Not half as bad, but a bit. The plastic cam in my carb only moves the accelerator pump about 1/8-1/4 inch. Is this right or is there another mod or fix to be made?

Oh, I forgot....I have not moved the needle at all....could this be any cause for my greif????

You might need to move the needle, but nothing you do will get rid of the bog the stock carb has off idle. Usually you can get it better by adjusting the fuel screw. If you didn't adjust the needle or fuel screw yet that would be the next step.

You move the clip on the needle to a different groove. Move the clip down to make it richer, up to make it leaner.

If you have a warrior with around a 2000 make than you should only be running a 147.5 or 150 main jet on average. One problem that might make you need such a large jet is a air leak somewhere that is causing the carb to shoot much more fuel to compensate for it. If you can hear a high pitched hiss while your motor is running than that might be your problem. That would also cause your motor to run lean and not rev out just like you are claiming it does. Not even a big bore kit would cause you to need that large of a jet, something definately isn't right... You more than likely will need to adjust the needle for your top end adjustment, definately look into that after you find out what's making your motor need so much fuel. To test for a leak you can use dish soap on the boot or manifold just like a punctured tire, just a small film will do, and just look for the bubbles.

I just thought of it and it could be another issue, the float bowl adjustment. Your float bowl level should have an effect on the mixture, and also if you run at high revs and the float isn't high enough it'll run out of fuel and cause your motor to bog down.

I have no intake leaks.....just replaced the boot and o-ring. Tested with 2 + 2, no leaks. I think I may try another carb. I am getting sick of this damn thing.

Is it possible to adjust the amount of fuel you get from the accelerator pump? Also, what size pilot jet should I run?

I have got to tell you guys I really appreciate your help!!!!! I went out on sunday and after a few frustrated blasts i made a few more adjustments that were suggested here and if is perfect!!! Idle air screw was off.....needle needed moved. Now she is perfect!!!! Has not been this good since I bought it! Revs forever, fast as hell (compared to before), instant throttle response, and can't wait to do more. I was so frustrated I was trying to sell. Thanks guys, you were tons of help!!!
