I know there's a topics based on this I've searched so I can add to it but couldn't find it. Here's my question which is better uni or k&n with outerwear or cotton sock over it???? . I'm going to busco beach in 3weeks and its alot of dust/loose dirt there . My usual riding is trails as well. FYI want to run with no lid

If I was running in sand with a lot of fine dirt, I would be using a uni foam filter. Will do a better job of filtering out the smaller particulates. If you decide on a K&N, you should put a nylon stocking AND an outerwears pre-filter on it.

Damn all that for the k&n I might as well by the uni for way cheaper . What the heck is k&n good for??

The K&N's get slightly better airflow, so people that are incredibly anal about getting the most out of their machines will go through the hassle of the higher price, plus stocking, plus pre-filter. Also, if you don't ride in sand, the K&N with a pre-filter should be plenty good at filtering particulates.

But with all that extra wouldn't it restrict air flow ??? That's like 3 filters lol

Even with all that the K&Ns get better airflow. Lbjamm feel free to correct anything I said if I am wrong. I don't believe I am though.
