keeps dying on me!!!

Ok my quad has officially pissed me off. someone plz help. It will run perfect for awhile, then suddenly it will spit and sputter then die then you cant get it to start back up. i have took the carb off twice to check the float in the carb and its not sticking and i have checked the accelerator pump and both work fine.

Have you checked your parking brake, Happened to mines. The parking brak activates itself sometimes, I just zip tied it back, but you could cut and connect the wires.

well i changed the spring on the accelerator pump to a spring from a pin. which i dont kno if it could affect the power because after i took the carb apart to do that it seems to not have as much acceleration.

If there has been no dirt in the bowl when you took it apart, it might be electrical. Pull off your rear plastic, unplug cdi and inspect harness.

If that is ok -next time it happens check and see if you have spark -need to eliminate what it is not, to find what it is

yamaha just put in a new stator and a cdi box not 3 weeks old.

still need to know if you are getting spark or not when it happens. Did this happen before they replaced the parts or after?
