Kicks out of gear with reverse shifter?

Not sure what I need to adjust or replace? When I am in gear and going down the road it will kick into what seems like neutral. I have to reach down and frig with the reverse lever. It will go back in and a few min later it does it again. I have in zip tied down right now so it wont happen but I have no reverse this way.

The lever will go far in the forward direction but does not click into drive until I move the lever back quite a bit. Is there an adustment I can do or is there a spring or something that holds the handel down??

Thanks for any help it is probably an easy fix...I just don't know

the linkage rod is like a tierod, loosen the 2 jam nuts and turn is in 1/2 tun increments and ride it, if one way makes it worse, go the other way.

Weston, Is there a stop inside of the handle? I can remember? Most likely a simple adjustment though.

There is,but you adjust it with the rod
