Can someone show me how to do this my buddys warrior is burning oil and it has great compression so was wondering if it could be the valve seals I think this test helps figure the problem out right?

and if there is good compression would it be more than likely the valve seals?

It blows blue smoke at start up and then turns white once warm
It goes through around a quart in about 3 to 4 hours of hard riding

Most likely your oil control rings are shot. In most cases bad valve seals will smoke on a cold start and once warm they will heat up, expand, and seal around the valve stem. Your valve seals would have to be gone to go through that much oil in that time. A leak down test requires a leak down tester. Put the piston at top dead center, thread the leak down tester in the spark plug hole, hook an air hose to it, and open the gate to let air in then regulate the pressure using a valve built into the tester. Once pressurised you can pull out the dipstick and "feel" for air thats making it's way into the crankcase, or feel for air coming out of the crankcase breather. Also good way to detect bent or warped valves, or a bad head gasket.
