I was wondering if anybody on here might be able to help me out with some math??
First off let me explain what I'm doing here.
The 490 2 stroke motor I'm running in my quad has a 30 watt 6 volt lighting coil in it. I have an H3 fog light housing that I can use for a headlight. The crappy thing is I can only use one housing because of the low wattage of the coil.
Now... I can get a 25 watt, 6 volt H3 bulb for the housing I have, that will throw about 300 lumen. (Which equates to about 250 out of the light itself)
I'm trying to figure out how far a 250 lumen beam will shine?
The housing I have is 4,1/2" inches long, and 2,1/2 inches wide.
I'm just trying to figure out if this will throw enuf light to see the trail in the dark. I'm sure that the compact design of the housing will help concentrate the beam, but I don't know for sure?
That's why I could use some help...
