I see you just joined. Welcome. Take some time to look through old threads. Gaining HP has been covered million times. Any specific questions, feel free to ask.

But yeah, what Jugga said, its really depends on how big your pockets are. A lot of the 350 power is hidden in the head.

just got back from my cycle shop $1200 for top end any cheaper ideas:atv:

What all were they gunna do?

You can do a whole engine for a lot cheaper then that! Of course you gotta get your hands dirty too. Labor costs are what gets you at those shops.

sounded like everything. yeah i thought about doing it myself, but never did this before. would it be easy to do or would it be difficult were i have never done it

Everything? Just the head. So they were gunna P&P it, Oversize your valves, Upgrade your springs and install it all and press in a new cam? What cam options did you have.? Or did that include Jug work as well? (Bore, hone and piston) That include new gaskets too?

You can do most of an engine build yourself if you are somewhat mechanically minded and depending on what your doing. HD springs and pressing the cam bearring usually need to be done at a shop, along with a proper P&P and overvalve job. Bore and hone on a jug needs shops tools as well.

Sounds to me like you need to do some research first. There is tone of great info on this site. Take a look around.
