I bought my daughter a Honda 250EX this year(I tried to talk her into the Raptor 250).
We would like to do some Hare Scrambles next year.
These are pretty good bikes as far as toughness goes. But the suspension SUCKS. So what I was thinking was to put 400EX front end on it. Has anyone out there built one of these? The suspension on this thing will beat me to death and I'm 175lbs, I know she takes a beating.
I hear the Banshee front is a direct bolt in for the rear?

So what I'm looking for is knowledge from your, snide remarks, and maybe help and ideas for a setup, and deals on spare parts lying around.

If the a arms mounts have the same width as the 300 and 400ex, then those arms would be a direct bolt on, and the shocks may work as well. There is also the diamond j kits that may be availible for that quad, but I'm not too sure. Looks ebay, and google for more info. If you want more power, powroll has a noice little top end kit for them.

Going to work with the suspension first. Mostly because it sucks.
The power is pretty good. It has the "sport clutch" so she can have the best of both worlds as far as shifting goes.
I'm pretty sure the lower arms bolt in but the uppers need to be shifted out to make the camber correct.
I'll be looking for a nice Red Banshee front to put on the rear.

What are you planning for it? Major or minor upgrades.
My daughter is quite aggressive when she rides. She doesn't complain about the power but does complain about the suspension.

well the one im working on is a 250x so its chain drive .... its getting 450r rear end swinger back and 400ex a arms, spindles ,and hubs/brakes with 450r shocks. the shocks require a bracket to work

i dont like how the motor is sideways in the ex !!!

But, if you change the oil regularly, and make sure that the brake assy is sealed right, and the vent hose is connected/healthy. Then they last as long as the bike. However, when they go bad, and need gears, they are costly.
