I'm putting my dirtbike up for sale for 800 and this dude offers 500... :loco: Wow, really? For a fully functional 89 KX250 with a title that runs solid? And comes with a bunch of parts? Sure it might not be cherry but it's a hell of a deal. I sure had fun with this ******* ;)

You don't try to get things cheaper if you can? I know I do..

I lowball the hell outta people! I've never paid over $200 for a warrior. and never over $2500 for a quad period (that was the Polaris... and it was damn near new). always always always lowball and haggle! never know how cheap people will go!

Sure, but there's a difference between an offer based off ANYTHING on the condition of the bike and an offer based off of stupidity and hoping the owner is a moron. I could've parted the bike out and get more than $500.. I see your point but 500 bucks is just insulting for a fully functional dirtbike... lol

The best I've ever done was with my travel trailer... It was for 1400 but no title, shower was trashed, carpet was toast, vents needed work and fridge was shot. Also there was something wrong with a hookup (don't remember, mind brew a BLANK)... So we are like "Would $1200 insult you?" and he was like, "Hell I'll tell you what, I'll let you have it for $1000..." :loco: Well, that was fun, but we did find a couple other minor things later lol.

no I insult people and the walk off and they always call me back to get it lol. I have bought several decent 80's 2 stroke bikes from $50 to $150

well damn, if you get that offended over a 300 dollar difference then start out at 3500 and let them work you down to 800 lol

I almost always low ball. Gives you a starting point to wheel and deal. I would have told the guy: "look... you offered 500 I'm wanting 800, why don't we meet in the middle at 650." Ofcourse I would have tried to get more out of him 1st, but I've played that line all the time.

But, I know how you feel about a low ball because of stupidity. I've been trying to sell a 150cc scooter for a customer, and no one wants to buy it because you have to have a motorcycle liscense to ride it. It's valued at 2000 from KBB. Over time, I've lowered the price to get rid of the damn thing. I'm now at 1400 obo, and people come in here and say, "they are selling them in richmond for 500." To which I reply, "then go to richmond and buy one!" THAT pisses me off. God spend your wellfare check on a POS 50cc tywanese knock off!

The thing that gets me is you talk to these people on the phone 5 times answering dumb questions. Then you spend your time waiting for them to show up and they throw a ridiculously low offer. Even though the 5 times you spoke to them you told them don`t bother wasting my time if you only have $500 to spend. If I call someone about a quad I tell them up front what I`m looking for and how much I`m willing to spend. And if it`s in both of our ranges then I go see it and negotiate. There are those times when the machine is not as described then the low ball offers are expected.

well I play the "I want $800. they offer $500. I respond with ok I'll take $1000 for it"

Lol. I'm going to try that myself. We finally sold the 59 apache. Had one guy and his dad come to look at it, and had a guy call that wanted to look at it. An older guy from another shop in town came to see it yesterday and offered us 300, when we were asking 700. Talk about low ball, it was worth the 700 easy. Then he turned around and said I don't want the engine or trans, so... needless to say we cleared shop, got 300, and kept the engine and trans. Well worth it, now just need to pull em out.

Well I've used the "Fine I'll sell this fine running quad to you for $600 less, but I'm keeping the engine, tires, wheels, battery, lights and exhaust." That's a good one... It's been successful to get them to vanish.
