Ok so stock carb on new trade in and it was leaking gas so I figured it deserved a carb rebuild.
Totally rebuilt, but it had a 148 main jet and the kit came with a 145 so I left the old one in there, just cleaned it up a bit. Once I finally felt like I got the air fuel mixture screw in the right spot (2 1/4 turns) I decided to open the throttle up a bit and right at about quarter to half throttle its stumbling. Ok so at this point I know its the needle right? So I did notice that the new needle was slightly longer and it has 5 slots for the c-clip on it. The old needle has 6? Is this normal?
Anyways out of desperation I put the old needle back in because it if ran good before why would I change it? The old needle runs alot better but its still stumbling at about half throttle. The c-clip is in the 3 slot from the bottom or 4 from the top. This is the exact same position it was in when I disassembled the carb. So why would it be stumbling at half throttle if everything is back to the same it was? And also do it need to move it up or down?
