what should I be checking. The rod seems tight. The other 2 motors I have seem about the same.

When I pulled the flywheel the starter clutch bolts were loose. So that could have been some of it.

The old clutch was slipping so I put the new one in it along with the extra steel.

Just trying to avoid spilting the case.

Any tips on how to measure the crank and rod play.

This is the worse of it.

I forgot about the piston being messed up and scraping the cylinder. I bet thats where most of it come from.

The rod clearances all check out good. I think i dodged a bullet. I have 2 spare motors if need be. LOL
