mid 90s warrior question

okay so i got my new stator the other day. I am going to be changing it when the weather is a tad better. I have to work outside and it is single digits here. My question is this, when i took the cover off to remove the old stator i got oil running all over the place, there was quite a bit of it. I am curious as to if this is normal or if there is a bad seal somewhere that I should change while its open..

Its normal ... tip the quad up by putting jack stand under the axle so the tires are about 8-12 inches off the ground and you want lose oil

Agreed. You still need lubrication on the gears that are in there or they'll wear out quickly.
