well today i went riding with a buddy of mine he had a z400 he has yosh pipe and filter,so when we came to a pit we switched bikes and i was like wow it was a big power difference i was empressed. Then we started jumping and i am a good rider but he had that extra punch of the gas that just shoot him higher and further then i did. well i now this question has been asked over and over again but there are somany opinions on whats the best products the questions is what modds should i do to the warrior to make mine somwhat as fast and powerful as his. i know the warrior is no power house but i love the warrior and want to wake her up with some motor mods. rite now i have a K&N filter drilled box, jeted, and a fmf Megamaxx pipe and a 14tooth sprocket. so what i was thinking of doing a Je high compression piston, web cam 450,430 lift cam i'm unsure on witch one ,ti spring kit,and bigger valves ,i may bore it over possibly like 1 over depending on what condition my cylander is in. also maybe a port and polish depending on money what dose a good port go for ? eventully i would like to put an edelbrock on but thats later motor first ill deal with that later on. i realy want to this rite so any help would be appreacited . if you u have any problems with these produts please tell

Eddie

I'm not real heavy on this stuff yet, but my Warrior has a 13:1 piston, titanium valves (not sure of size) and a stage 2 hotcam. I'm not sure how it would run against your friends Z, but it'll blow the fenders off a stock Warrior. I also know that the middle of fourth gear is about 45 mph, as clocked on my buddy's Honda 300 utility quad (his max is 45mph). When I pegged fourth and hit fith, he was a good 50 yards behind me, still wide open. Bottom line is, yes, you can make these things scream. My other buddy's 450r didn't leave me until 3rd gear, and even then he only slowly walked away.

hey gawarrior thanks , what brand piston is your 13:1 you runs a mix of pump and race gas rite , i thought anything over 12:1 you gotta run a mix ? please everyone give there opinion once again i want to do this right. i added all the stuff i listed above and got a total of 344$ using Alba for the piston and springs and valves and Magic Racing for the cam .dose anyone know any were cheeper to get this stuff.

price list
je high compression piston-149.99$ compression ratio 10:75 to 1- albaaction.com
web cam 99.99$ Magicracing.com
titanium valve and spring kit -94.99$ albaaction.com

PM Deathshadow about this stuff.. he put a stroker in his warrior before he sold it, ask him what products he used.

Check out my mod list, that put me damn close to a piped z400, so I would be able to take a stock one no problem, throw a cam on and i'd be able to walk all over a piped one. My port job was $60 because that was what he quoted me on before he did it, but he got carried away because he really wanted to see how good he could make it and it ended up being a $180 port job in the end, I just got a hell of a deal on it.

If you think the Z400 is fast hop on a YFZ bro - they spank Z400s... I would do a high comp piston, .430 midrange cam, and some port work. Or I would say **** it and cut right to the stroker!

One word, nitrous!!! ;) ;D

lol
i dont know about nos. i doubt i would buy a kit but i just have some questions on nos is it safe to you and your quad ? were do get the bottels refilled.

It is very safe as long as it is set up correctly and the proper precautions are taken. You can't do something stupid like add a 25hp shot without a very heavy duty gasket, running high octane fuel, retarding the ignition, and swapping out the stock connecting rod for a heavy duty one. You also have to run the coldest plug possible with nos. Detonation is the #1 thing to avoid with nos, avoid it with ignition retarding and high octane fuel. Your mixture also is a big part if you run a dry fogger setup. The wet injection kits are much safer and hit much harder, just as long as you run the proper safety switches. Another big factor is bottle pressure, you always have to keep it in the green to run at full potential and avoid lean explosions. When it comes to filling the bottles you'll be surprised how many places can do it, even performance auto stores such as ramchargers can do it. If your in the boonies than you can ups the bottles to get filled.

I don't know the brand on the piston, it was in when I bought it. I actually only run 87, if I go any higher, it backfires and sputters. Can't say I know for a fact that that's the piston, but it's what I was told. The guy I bought it from used to race GNCC, so I'm sure he had it setup pretty well. At idle you can feel the exhaust pretty strong at 15 feet. On the trails, my friends say if I get with about 10 bike lengthe and get on it, they have to turn their heads. I need to do a compression check, just to see what it's at. But like I said, it'll pass a stock Warrior like it's a bicycle.

once again thanks GaWarrior

Also what do you guy think my cc will be with the mods i listed ? anywere near 400 you think. i duubt but just wondering.

None of the things you listed are going to actually increase your cc's (except maybe 5cc from the piston) but it should put you around the power output of a z400

thats what i thought. what do you guys know or thing about the Cycle Works Racing 400 kit ?

well i baught a topend gasket kit. and i am just about to start buying piston and cam and springs so i am almost positive me and my dad will be doing the installation our selfs so i thought it would be a good investment to get a clymer manual so we can install these parts is any of the parts i listed above hard to do? i have al the tools me and my dad know alot but this wil be our fist rebuild on a quad. any one know were the cheepest place to get manual is?
