I went out to the track today to get some practice in for a race next weekend. I got about four laps in (4-5 miles a lap, it's a harescramble course) and I busted a heim joint. My ASR arms have heim joints instead of ball joints, and I thought they were supposed to be pretty bullet proof? I'm getting pretty close to having broken every part on this damn thing, it's starting to get expensive...lol. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if they really do have a lifetime warranty, or they're going to give me the runaround. I'm just glad it didn't let go on the MX part of the track, that could have been ugly

This kind:

No, it's the stem. I just haven't replaced it yet. I talked to the guy at ASR today, he shipped me a new heim joint today for free. I'm pretty impressed with the service, I thought for sure I'd be paying for it. I also have new shocks that aren't in the pic, I need to take a new one....

Have you been greasing them up lately??? I think you have to grease those constantly.

There's nowhere to grease them, no zerk fittings or anything like that. It's not the actual heim joint that broke, it's the pivot pin. Here's a pic of one:

There were only four rides on them when it broke, it must have just been a bad part or something. I got a new one in the mail today, two days after calling them, free of charge. Can't complain about that.

I've been thinking about it, but I don't know if I want all the extra mud flung in my face. Everybody with cut fenders, do you get a lot more crap thrown up at you?

Not from the front. The mud comes from the rear where the power is at.

for greasing them ball joints i sue this stuff i get from work called teffgell its relly good i used it on my budys boat lift for in the salt water and it helped the rolers keep from sticking for a year with onley one use of it and we wuse it at work for the lift and stuff that pivits and odds and ends its rellly good stuff

Thanks, I'll have to look around for the teffgell. I know sometimes when it's greasy out and I have the fronts turned, I get sprayed with a little bit of crap. I figured it would be a lot worse with the fenders cut. Maybe if I get a chance this weekend I'll cut them and post up some pics....lol.
