Got my motor out 2 switch frames and was wondering what should I do while its out. Is there a way to clean the head out from all the black exhuast ?? Also I'm going to power wash the crap out of it and wanted to spray it black. What y'all think??

DO NOT power wash the engine. You will force water into it. Just spray it down with brake clean or carb cleaner. Use compressed air, scotchbrite pads, rags, Q-tips, etc... If you are wanting to clean the carbon from the exhaust port, make sure the exhaust valve is closed and get in there with scitchbrite and good ole fashioned elbow grease, then blow out with air.

Yeah, I'm with Pat, however I really think that there is so little to gain from that bit of cleaning in the exhaust port that idk if it's worth it. I the other hand I know what it's like to just try something so go for it. Brake clean or 2+2 is your friend, just don't get it in your eyes, ugh!!

That does suck! I you ever see me running to the bathroom at the shop, it's because lunch is trying to get out; or 2+2 in the eyes.

Lol thanks fellas.. What about paint ?? I've seen some with all black motors

yea, it'll build and hold more heat if ya paint the cooling fins. C'mon, you guys don't like that AHHHH! GET IT OUT! feeling to let ya know your still alive?! LOL Nothing like carb clean in the eyes first thing in the morning!!

There will only be some added heat for a short while until the paint burns in. It'ss just stink to holy hell.

What about taking the head off and placing it in a bucket of cleaner/degreaser for a couple hours ?? So the whole inside can get cleaned

brush diesel on it. it takes the dirt out and it does a really good job cleaning it. just let it dry for a day then blow it out with an airgun

Just spray the **** out of it with a couple cans of brake clean, blow off with compressed air, let dry fully and call it a day.
