Motor Trouble=(

I was out riding last night when my warrior started ticking it was a really hard ticking too like almost knocking, then it started dieing and spitting and spuddering when i parked it, it died i thought i may have blew my motor but i went and tryed to start it later and it started but that ticking is really bad i think its my valves and ideas. I dont wanna loose her=)

How old is your oil and how often do you change it?

I monney is valves or timing chain did you stay ontop of chainging your oil? When did you set your valves last?

Yeah I know in cars and what not if you get a bit long on the oil change you can get some valve tap, and if you get way past it'll sound pretty nasty and you better change your oil ASAP, generally changing the oil makes it go away.

If not the oil then I'd have to say timing chain slack or something.

Valve adjustment nut came loose.

^What he said. Pull the tentioner and check that, then get those valve covers off and look around.

It's already been said but bring it to TDC, pull the valve covers & check lash, I'm betting on valve lash but again, that's been said.

I changed the oil when i first got it and i have only riden it like 5 times since then and not very hard rides either but i will check that stuff out tonight thanks guys

another thought, check your oil level, make sure you don't have a leak. low/no oil would make the same noise

I did my oil is perfect it was so wierd when it happened

Do you have a fealer gauge? If not get one when youtake the valve covers offf roll the motor over to tdc and re adjust them to oem specs

i ttok myvalve covers off last night and the valve that is in the front off the motor there is a nut that is suppost to be on the top of the rockers arm and that nut is gone so my rocker arm can move freely up and down im getting it fixed this wekend but what should i do about the nut that is gone it is some were in my motor

That nut is some were in the head hopfully it didn't screw anything up when it left!

welp, play find the nut, probably have to pull the head off if you can't see it in the valve bay with it on the quad.

I'd check the exhaust right before I pulled the head and hope it was in there, but then again should probably pull the head anyway to check and see what kind of damage it did

ya i cant see it any were but i dont thing it did any damage becasue my motor still semes like it was running strong when it happened i drove it in to my garage and it was running fine then just the hard ticking
