Here's my new project/toy hauler I just picked up for $1,000. The price may seem high for what it looks like, but it's got well over $1000 in new parts, and runs like a champ with only 109,000 miles on the original 318 v8. It's got a bunch of new parts including a rebuilt trans, dual side-exit exhaust with flowmaster 40's and magnaflow high flow cats (sounds freakin awesome), and new tires. I'm bolting down some cabinets in the back, and stocking them with all the tools I could possibly need to work on the quads if something breaks. It looks a little rough, so the first thing on the list will be some body work and paint before the parents get tired of looking at it.

This truck is the color i'm planning on painting the van. It shouldn't show all the dents and imperfections in the body, and won't stick out like a sore thumb when it's sitting out in the woods behind the house (which the parents should appreciate).

i think all white would look better than that green and it should'nt show all of the dents either.

I thought about all white, or just painting the red part gray and touching up the other spots, but that might be too plain, and I want it to look different. Also, a big part of it is that I don't have room in the driveway for another vehicle, especially one this big, so I will probaby keep it tucked away in the woods across the road from the house, along one of my trails. If it was flat green nobody would even notice it sitting back there, and that way it wouldn't look like we were running a junkyard with old cars sitting around the woods. It might sound silly, but I still live with my parents and they're kinda picky about how our property looks so I gotta try to please them too. I would like to paint it white, with a couple big blue racing stripes down the middle, but I don't think bright colors are going to be an option. Plus, i doubt the van is going to get washed much (probably not at all, this thing is huge) and white really shows dirt, which it will collect a lot of sitting in the woods under trees and on top of dirt. Anything would look better than it is now though.

Oh yeah, this thing will be a freakin pimp wagon when i'm done. It's already got the dark purple tinted windows in the back (the last owner just tinted them because it was his work van, and he didn't want people seeing all his tools and breaking into it).

The more I think about it, that's a hell of a lot of van to paint. I may just repaint the red part and then touch up the few spots of gray that are bad. But what color? Maybe lime green... hmm... metallic blue... who knows.

I think i've made up my mind now, i'll just redo the red paint. Should look something like this:

Made the decision on the paint now (I think). I'm going to fix some of the body damage, then paint it all white. 2 metallic blue racing stripes up the hood and down the back, and a 60" blue "YAMAHA" vinyl on the sides.

how about some naked chick holding a big ****** laser gun protection the universe meural lol!

I'm bored, so I thought i'd post a little update. I have the body work done to the extent that i'm going to take it (too many little dents and bends to fix everything) and all I have left is a little bit of sanding before i'm ready to paint it. I ordered a paint sprayer over the weekend. Assuming the weather is right this weekend, and the sprayer gets here on time, I should have a white van by monday. I also picked out the paint i'm using for my racing stripes, it's a bright blue pearl metallic which looks amazing when it's in the light. That'll have to wait until another time though.

I also picked up a new toy hauler. Hopefully the paint will come out as sweet as your is sounding, thinking of going with the orig colors. 87-88 bronco, 351 windsor (**** that cleavland ****) straight pipes (sounds like a Very high HP boat at idle). sorry for jacking your thread, i'll startmy own when i get pics, and vid for the pipes.

Again, Very nice, can't wait to see the finalized pics, and the paint all done up. Good luck, and have some fun with it.
