The little one is a Kyosho Mini-Z. A bunch of hop ups on it, even some real carbon fiber ****. It goes about 15 mph so even some gravel in the driveway can make for a spectacular crash. So that one stays indoors for when i'm bored on the rainy days. The bigger one is a Duratrax Evader BX. That's got a .18 nitro engine and hits 40 mph in about 3 seconds. It puts out around 1 hp and only weighs 4 lbs, so it's got some balls.

An original rear tire from the buggy. That's only after about 2 hours of driving, and not much of that was on pavement.

ah damn, I wanted a gas car liek that but my dad didn't want to keep getting gas so he got me an electric one. not that fast but it's alright. haven't played with it for a few years though.. my first rear tires are like that but not as bad

Thats a sweet buggy, i was gona ask for one for my b-day thats coming up but decided to ask for a trailtech vapor instead. If i have left over money this summer from modding the warrior i might buy an rc car.

Yo I used to have the Monster Beatle and Black Foot Tamyia cars, I also had the frog. Those cars were cool back then like late 80s

I have a traxxas tmaxx and my dad has a traxxas jato. rc cars are so much fun.

Nice truck!! I have a Duratrax Maximum MT Pro myself, with a .16 engine. Awsome truck, and has treated me well for about 7 years. Had to rebuild the differential like 5 times though, so that meant dissembling the hole back end!!!!! Right now, I'm rebuilding my brother in-laws Evader ST, he did way to many donuts and trashed the tires, rims, u-joints,.......

I was thinking of up grading to a Revo or LST, but they are way to expensive now. So I'll stick with mine, and build it up as stuff breaks. Maybe get a super charger for the thing ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, rc's are definitely fun, plus safer and cheaper to repair especially when your friends tend to be reckless. We set up a plywood ramp out in my one buddy's yard. I had my evader along but i wasn't running it at the moment. But we were sailing a good 20 feet off that thing. My one friend Zac (or boog as we call him) has a Redkat .18 4x4 buggy. It's a cheap thing, but it's fast as hell in a straight line. And Jon has a Traxxas Revo 3.3 which is a freaking indescructible moster that's quicker than both our buggies. But anyways, they get this sweet idea to run the Revo in front of the ramp and hit it with the Redkat to jump over it. Boog makes a balls to the wall run at the ramp, but when the thing shifts into second gear it gets all squirrely and only gets the ramp with the left side tires. So he's flying upside down at 45 and bounces off the Revo, also going at least 40. The revo spins a 360 and keeps going like nothing happed, just some extra paint. But the buggy goes flying off into a cartwheel, bounces up about 4 feet in the air, and lands hard upside down on a stack of cement blocks. But it's still running, and the impact blew the lid off the battery box, so now the throttle is stuck wide open. When that thing hit the ground it was on the wheels and went booking across the yard, goes into the creek at an angle, and skims across the water to the other side. When we caught up to the thing it was still full throttle, high-centered along the edge of the creek, with all 4 wheels throwing water everywhere. Both the front shocks are bent bad, the aluminum shock towers are folded over flat against the chassis, and both the front upper arms are busted. It was spectacular.

I know i just said a lot, but we're bored, right?

Damn the more you guys talk about them the more i wana buy one. Yamarider i know you said a gallon of gas cost about 30 bucks and fills up the car about 50 times but how long does a tank of gas last in those things? and if i were to buy one what would be a good one to buy and how much do they cost? wonder if they sell them on ebay...

Ebay does sell the stuff, but I don't know if I would trust the seller with giving accurate discriptions. But look at Duratrax, they are good, reliable, yet cheap brand name. Only problem is finding parts for them when you break it. Not to many stores stock them, so it just takes a few days from online or from the store.

And for me, the full gallon of gas ($24) lasted me about 2 years, about 15 min of running time per tank. But, I don't drive it every week.

The best thing to do is to go to your local hobby shops and decide what you want based on what they sell. If you get into this hobby, chances are you will break stuff. My buddy has that Redkat thing he got on ebay for $180, but it's near impossible to find parts because it's not a brand that any of the hobby shops carry.

I got mine at a little local hobby/rc/camping store for $250, and that came with everything I needed, including batteries. The only thing I needed to buy was a gallon of gas (which is $22 there, i got a different kind of gas somewhere else which is $30 a gallon). The evader is a pretty common car, so almost all r/c shops will stock the most common parts for them. So every time i break something, i can just drive 10 minutes, pick up the part for $5, and go home and fix it right away. My buddy with his off-brand buggy will have to order the parts directly from the manufacturer and wait a couple weeks for the parts. If you get a buggy, you WILL break parts. So far, here's what i've spent on repairs. Bear in mind, i'm still getting used to the whole thing and i've made a few mistakes. But I shattered both front a-arms already, in seperate crashes. A left and right a-arm are $5 for the pair. In one of those crashes i also broke the bottom shock pivot and lost the spring retainer. It was $3 for 2 pivots, 2 retainers, and a bunch of other little shock parts. I burned up the differntial gear doing donuts. That was $5 for the gear and $3 for new bearings. Wore the rear tires down to nothing. I got a new set that will last much longer for $16. Glue to mount them to the wheels was $5. I spent $5 on a bottle of filter oil, and another 4 on a bottle of heavier weight shock oil, which will refill all 4 shocks about 5 times. And 1 glow plug at $5. The little costs do add up, but most of that was beginner mistakes.

How much are you looking to spend? I picked one of the cheapest routes possible to get into the hobby, which came out to just under $300 with taxes and a gallon of gas.

My buddy Jon spent about twice as much on his truck, but has a much nicer machine. He's bounced his 7 feet into the air, landed on rocks, and didn't break anything on it. And his comes with a bunch of extra parts to add adjustability and all that good stuff. Plus reverse. 4 wheel drive. Electric start. Very smooth, long travel suspension. Big tires and enough ground clearance to go anywhere. 2 speed transmission, tops out at at least 45 or 50 mph if you have the balls to hang onto it for that long. He just has to be real careful on pavement, because even being a good 18 inches wide, it'll still flip over on him real easy. So they're not the thing if you want to play around in parking lots much.

A tank of gas in mine can last anywhere from 8 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on how hard i'm running it.

Hope you don't mind me posting pics up Yamarider, but I have a few from when I painted the rims:

Yes, it is a can of beans (the big can though). It was the closest thing near by, and it just maxed out the flex:

That thing is 7 years old? Damn, you must be really careful or take care of it good. Mine already has more scrapes and scratches and i've had it a month.

Ya, I do take good care of it, and I used to be very carefull, but now I'm a lot more daring. Plus, I didn't use if for about 2 years at one point. Still, the thing has seen a lot of air, many curbs, and probly more times sideways then foward. Now, I take it to the beach (AWSOME place to go), some street, and some local sumps where me and my friends made a track.

if you really want to have fun with these and you dont really care about it or have the money to fix it, take to a big city, you can do soooo much fun stuff, so many things that you can jump off of and run into and what not. Or a skate park, those are always fun. I had to sell my elctic buggy, it was totaly demolished, it was a drift machine before i stop carring about it.

Well I'm pretty bored so I'll post some pics of my T-Maxx.
