I've been reading the forums for a little while now, getting ideas, etc. I'm getting ready to install an exhaust, intake stuff, and a GYT-R jet kit. ('06 Rap 350)

I cant for the life of me find the damn instructions for the jet-kit, straight vanished. Does anyone here have them? Scanned or otherwise, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure which forum this belongs in, so please move it if needed.

Are you looking for instructions on how to replace jets, adjust needle, adjust mixture screw, etc? or instructions on what jet size to use?

The instructions that come with the GYT-R jet kit are pretty lame. If you are wondering how to jet, there are several places online that explain it really well, including this web site.

The suggested jet sizes that GYT-R gave on their instructions were not even close for me. For a bike with a high flow air filter and an aftermarket pipe they suggested a 165 main jet. This was way to rich for my bike. But it was a good starting point. I started at a 165, then went to a 160, then 157.5 and ended up at a 155 main jet, dropped the needle 1 position and a 25.0 pilot jet.

Any questions, just ask. The guys on this site are very knowledgeable. Much better than almost any other site.

Yup, just for their baseline settings for different configs (good to have a recommended starting point). I've been working on motorcycle carbs for years, so no issues there as far as the actual mechanical work.

Thanks guys :D

BTW, I'm running a K&N w/outerwears, opened airbox, FMF full system (PB header).

Powerbomb header eh? You gotta let us know how well that works, I've been considering one for my bike, ditching the Yoshi header for it.

A neighbor of mine is a former XC & Desert racer (Banshee), he recommended the full FMF system, said the PB header will flow better up top without losing any mid-range like some full systems do (Yosh).

He hasnt raced since like 2000 I think, but he still knows his shiznit. He just bought a couple of Raptor 350's for him and his wife to use for camp'n and stuff. Frik'n bastard is already getting free stuff for them from his various connections.... lol

You won't have quite as much torque in the low end, but the top end a midrange greatly improve from the header. Your sound level is also improved a bit. When you really lay on the throttle it is extremely loud though. I doubt if sound will be an issue if you're already running a yoshi setup though... ;D ;D ;D

Well, can anyone suggest a good baseline setting to start at?

K&N w/ Outerwears (opened-up airbox)
FMF PC4 with PB header
250' above SL

Main?
Pilot?
Needle?
Air screw?

If I can get some ballpark settings, I can fine tune from there.

Thanks again guys :)

I'd probably start with a 152 main, clip 1 notch lower on the needle, stock pilot jet, and maybe 1 turn out on the fuel screw from the stock setting (i don't know what the raptor carb's stock setting is though). That should give you something to work with at least, but every machine seems to respond a little different.

Cool, thanks guys...

Between the 2 settings you guys mentioned, thats ballpark enough for me to get close. From there I can fine-tune, hopefully with a minimum amount of changes.
