I have a question regarding the needle clip setting. I bought a 03 warrior for "cheap" and thought everything was fine, but I started to notice that once the motor was warm it would backfire through the carb at idle and stumble when you grab a handful of throttle. I grabbed my service manual and set to work. every thing pointed to a lean condition. First thing I noticed was the exhaust was just plain wrong. He had cut and pinched the manifold and cut a huge hole in the side of the air box. Ok... crap, got all the exhaust and the air box out of the way, now I see a vacuum hose on the test port going nowhere and the carb mount cracked and de-lamented. So one week later a DG exhaust and a bunch of factory parts show up. Got it all together and torqued to factory specs. It now idles like silk, but still hesitates although its better. DG recommends a 150 main (done) and lowering the clip one position. My question is, where is this clip in the carb and how do I get at it and adjust it? I see it in the exploded view but just cant figure it out. I read post after post and no one elaborates how to adjust it. Sorry for the long back story but now I'm lost. any help will be appreciated.

some one might know better then me but i think its

1 ) 3 screws on the top of the crab
2 ) 4 screws 2 on each side of the slide

then you can remove the slide and get to the needle clip

remove the top cover on carb (3 screws) then inside there will be a mechanism that has a shaft going trew it remove the 1 screw in that then you'll need to take the side black plastic cover off the side of carb and slide that throttle mechanism shaft out until yo can pull the slide all the way out of carb and then there will be 2 screws in the top of that you'll remove and you can pull the plastic piece out and you'll be able to pull the needle out and adjust the clip

yeah I just recently did this so it's all still fresh in my memory lol
as goes for the stator ohming thing you helped me out with too

Helps I told hauler how its done, lol. Guess if someone's got to be the resident ball buster, it's me! Haha. I forgot that you had the mechanical slide, hauler. I have a duel cable set up, much easier.
