Hey guys
New guy, and I mean new. I've had Woodsbuggies & climbingbuggies but never had any dirt bikes or 4 wheelers. Never trusted them very much for the type of climbing and hills that I would climb and play around on.

Never really was interested in them to begin with, well I just traded for a 2001 Yamaha warrior, nothing to brag about but it seams to be in Ok shape. Just been riding around my house lately up and down the road with my kids.

Today the wife and kids went to the mother n laws about 13 miles or so away, so I checked tire pressure and brake fluid, oil (a tad low-but have to go get some oil and filter?) plug and clean the K&N filter,(just trying to learn what to do and how to work on it) Added about 3 oz. of sea foam and top of with gas to make a good trip on it and to see just how it would do.

Rode the back roads (hollows) to stay off hwy and out of town and maybe rode about 15+ miles over to the mother n laws on my new toy with no problems except? in top gear as you just start to give it fuel it seames to have a hesitation/running out of fuel or air but I will lay in to it more and it hesitates again for a sec and then takes off. What do you guys think the problem is?

The guy that I got it from said that it has set maybe a year or so but he started every so often? but who knows, could that be it until I get the old fuel out? or does it need to have the carb cleaned because the idle was running high when I first got it until I back the idle screw down just alittle.

like I mentioned I don't know anything really about them but found this forum last night by searching for a owners manual on my Yamaha, Great forum by the way.

Hope to have a good time on here and learn a lot of things from you guys. Thanks...Daniel
Oh yeah will post up pics as soon as I can!

Welcome!!! Glad to have another from Kentucky on here. Where are you from, I live in Harold 5 minutes away from Pikeville

start with a good carb cleaning and maybe a carb rebuild kit more than likely it's the accelerator pump rod sticking in the bowl very common problem with the stock carb as why most replace the stock spring with a stiffer bic pen spring
and welcome to the site stick around and you'll learn a lot also get yourself a Clymer repair manual it gives you step by step instruction on everything

Hey beast, about 40 min. from you just outside of Paintsville, in lowmansville.

and yamahauler will try that as soon as I get some info and a manual or book and what is that a Clymer manual? tell me more or I will search for it to find out more.

Also it couldn't be that easy could it? using a pen spring? LOL!

I have been getting used power wheels for my little boy and girl for years at garage/yard sales for nothing and takin the switches out and apart cleaning them and replacing the springs that are rusted and eat up with writing pin springs ,LOL!

So that could be the problem?

Thanks

Man Paintsville used to be my stomping grounds, LOL I used to cruise around the walmart and baskin robbins back in 2000 and 2001. Awesome to have someone know about where we are from. They are a few more on here from Ky. You couldn't have came to a better place for info, This place is loaded with warrior guru's.

Hey Beast,

Do you remember a black fox body w/ ford racing on the back hatch window and running welds big n littles ?

Im from KY also. Clay Co. not too far from Pikeville. You all ever ride at the wilderness road park?

Its been so long ago I cant hardly remember, But if you cruised the circle from 2000 to 2002 I know I had seen ya. @Dirtstalker I haven't never rode wilderness road park, I ride The big show a lot and the blackwater slatedumps they are in Pikeville its a good 3 to 5 hour ride.

The wilderness road off road park is actually in Pineville, so it's a couple hours away from you I guess. It's a old/current coal strip job that's opened to the public for riding. I think it's like 10,000 acres or something for the park, then there is off-park riding also. It's an okay place to ride. Really dusty when it's dry, and alota rough ass haul roads to ride on. And by rough I don't mean technical, I mean jar ya teeth out headache kinda ridin. I ride around home here in a place called Kincaid, really good riding. Mud, hills, pretty much whatever tickles your fancy.

Hey Dirtstalker I drove a triple7 on a strip job for alittle over a year so I know what conditions your talking about, I bet it is a blast!! They could be some great wheelin done on strip jobs.
