whats up fellas... well ive been riding for years and used to have dirtbikes, had a 2000 banshee, and after 7 years of having nothing i'm back in the game. now i just recently bought a 88 warrior from a guy he didnt know to much its basically stock . my first four stroke, ill post vid later but my clutch is shot, now when its running you hear a gear grinding sounds like it spinning and it studders the motor and can stall it out my question is what is that gear thats spinning it kinda loud you can hear it wanting to catch something in the clutch maybe? i havent yet torn it apart i'm just seeing what options it could be. its not the motor the motor doesnt smoke, it starts up every time so i think its something with the clutch because when it does grap it doesnt do as much.. i bought this 88 warrior for i think good deal 450 with extra set of rims and tires.. !! but i dont know the common things that go wrong with these quads... any help would be appreciated. also does the lower a arm ball joint is that press in and replacable or do i need a replacement a arm? and if someone has one ill buy it

The starter clutch? Is it making noises when u start it?

I'd just go ahead and pull it apart. Prolly needs clutch set (fibers and possibly steels). While I had it apart, I'd check the gears and oil pump. Also the clutch baskets tend to get grooves. I sanded mine back to smooth. BTW welcome to the site.

I don't get why the a arms wouldn't be interchangeable?? Because the age of the 88 I would think that's how they made there money but are the newer models shorter
