hey folks,

first off let me say that i dont know d#^k about 4wheelers but ive always wanted one. that said a few months ago i found the deal of a lifetime! i got 2 used 4wheelers for my used horse trailor and i was happy, the yamaha 350 warrior runs like a scalded ape but the other one arctic cat 454 i dont where to start. that said,

the yamaha ran great until the lil boot from the piston to the carb split on me, i went got a new one put it on the same way it came off and rode it down the road for about 1 mile and it split on me...i mean 2 pieces! ok took it back the guy at the shop said it was a defected one! doubt that got the new one on the piston and to the carb but the breather box isnt matching up! im afraid if i put any preasure on the carb the boot thingy will ripin half again. am i missing anything? is there a boot from the carb to the breather box? the breather box has a hose from the box to the to the bottom of the carb but there is a differance of a half inch.

i also dont have any idea how old the thing is. i got what is left of the vin tag but cant seem to get any help.:argh:

what do i need to do?

The air box should match up to that hose going to the carb. If there is enough left on that tag, you should be able to see what year it is. It should be up front on the frame.

You may have put the intake boot on upside down there should be an arrow on it that points up. If it doesn`t have an arrow try flipping it and see if it lines up.
