Newb with wiring questions

The skinny of the story is that i bought a 96 warrior with a bad transmission. After digging into it I found out it exploded and destroyed my block. I bought a motor out of a 87 off ebay and I have everything mounted in the warrior. I just dont know how to wire the 87 stator to the 96 harness. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really want to ride tomorrow. Thanks for any help!

What happened to the 96 stator? That is what you need to get her going. The 87 stator will not work with the 96 electronics. If you are insistant on making it work, you need the wiring diagram for both the 87 and 96, spend a good deal of time looking at them, and decide on what wire goes where, and start to cut and splice. But, swap the stator, do it right, and forget about it.
