It would be cool to have a conversion for wheelers to make them into atcs but you would have to cut the frame.

the rear shock placement is weird must have some kind of arm or dog bone on top instead of bottom

Here ya go Mathius

The 1985 Polaris Scrambler 250R/es

Polaris did indeed make 3 wheelers, just not very many. Polaris was the only manufacturer to reverse engineer. They started making quads, then later removed the quad front of the frame and used a trike front end. Polaris actually used Yamaha parts to make their trike. The front end is from a 225DR or 225DX - from the triples to the forks - right down to the fender and hand controls. The Polaris Scrambler was only made in 1985 and 1986. I think it is cool that I know several people that own multiple Tiger made 3-wheelers - but I only know a few (about 4) that actually own running Polaris 3-wheelers.

Cool stuff. First it was 4 wheeler conversion kits, now it's 3 wheeler conversion kits. lol. I've seen a couple scrambler trikes.

i have an extra frame man your more then welcome to it Pat maybe Weston will have enough room on the trailer and i'll bring it up to you on the hatfield trip. Free and clear

I wouldn't mind it!

ya man thats fine no worries its my 96 frame its pretty clean and not twisted at all if we have the room i'll ask him if i can bring it up with us. that is if he even is still going to pick me up.

Beautiful Tecate-3 but they totally fugged up the color of that frame.. yuck!

Damn mathius that was cool! Too, bad they left out the part about them being a piece of ****! Lol. Still, cool stuff.

It's amazing how far the sport has come. Astonishing is another good word choice for it. Back then they were bousting, and proud of, 6.3" of suspension travel. Our minis of today are nearly that! Lol. And, 2 simple pulleys have been changed and upgraded, sensors added, range modes added, you name it. Then there are aluminum frames, aluminum swingers, suspension travel previously only thought possible on a 3 wheeler, 40+ horse stock 4 strokes, fuel injection, hydrostatic trans, flexx bars, Z start clutch, no more production 2 strokes, hyd clutch, electric start standard, disc brake mud scrappers, heated carbs for cold starts, storage compartments out the ass, side x sides, high perf side x sides, 101 freakin horspower side x sides!, fuel tuners once thought only for cars now a standard for efi bikes, five valve heads, uni cam, now the front mounted carbed 250's are under developement, the list goes on... Back when polaris put out that comercial NO ONE would have believed what we'd have today. Hell, even as little as ten years ago no one would have really thought that a 101 hp side x side (let alone a side x side) would be produced from factory.

We have most definitely come a long way. Especially in fuel delivery, and suspension technology...
But one part of your comment pointed to the 2 stroke being dead. (KTM, and Yamaha still produce 2 strokes)
I don't believe the 2 stroke is dead. It's just in hiatus..

It all came out in the wash a few years ago, when guys started using EFI on 2 strokes.

They found that not only was the 2 stroke more efficient, but it burned cleaner than a 4 stroke. The big 4 has taken notice of this.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a come back in the not so distant future.
