Picked up a new warrior today. Put a new ignition switch in (old one had no key), had no starter in it so I put one I had laying around in it. Turned the key to on heard a click in the back of the bike, slid the switch to run and hit the starter button. NOTHING not even a noise. Could be the starter is not good or could be something else. Any ideas?

Also what year CDI box is this one (one in the middle)

its a 1995 CDI, and the switch or wiring is bad and or grounding. start by seeing if you can get it to turn over with a screwdriver by touching the two soliniod posts together with a screwdriver.

Stole the pic.

Ok used a screwdriver on the solenoid and it spun the starter. I'm guessing the temp starter I put in there is bad and not engaging because it's not turning the engine over. But that starter switch appears to be dead.

Sorry for sounding obvious but after click in back of bike did u check and make sure u didn't blow inline fuse near relays? Had to replace mine a few times when I first got it before I had chased all electrical gremlins out

Yeah fuse is good.

Before I went to sleep last night I tested the main, run and start switches. The start switch is bad. Not an easy one to find.

just take the switch pod off the handle bars and disassemble it, then clean and dialetic grease all the switches.

I'll try that but as of right now there is no connectivity in the push start switch.

The harness has the big connector and 1 black/white wire that is seperate. If you got one I'll buy it.

Figured out the starter was turning backwards. Took it out and used a battery charger to check it and it spun the right way. So while scratching my head I put the starter back in and arched the solenoid and the starter turned the engine over. Then while taking the the wiring harnesses off the bike I found that the fuse is blown now.

Would that fuse being blown stop the starter switch from working?

Yeah man, my lights shorted out and blew that fuse and i had nothing, replaced the fuse and fixed the lights and it started right up. Sounds like something grounded out somewhere along the way when you took the harness off

replace that main fuse with a blade fuse man! they hold up better and are easier to replace.

Yup, I put an inline blade fuse in and it cranked fine with the button. Tomorrow I will put the head pipe on, new plug and some oil(since some leaked out the starter hole while moving it with no starter) and some gas in it and try to start it.

Still looking for full exhaust for it.
