And its really easy to mess one up if you drill just a hair off either way. A couple of the ones Ive done for people were ones because they drilled a hair off and ruined the cover.

How you drill isnt the issue as much as making sure on the top hole is dead on with the galley. With the size of the drill bit needed you have about a millimeter or 2 each way before you drill out the side of the galley. The upper hole is the hardest for lining up.

Just trying to give you all the info needed, Ive modded probably 10+ covers or so. So Im pretty much the resident Pro on modding covers.

Dude, it's Prolly worth it to just let 98 do it, he does it reasonably. Also, I noticed you have another thread about a pop. Someone there mentioned jetting. If you don't have the correct jetting you'll have more heat. Leaner is hotter. Just a friendly fyi.

Dude, that's a big question, no short answer for it... For the oil cooler it'll depend some on the type of cooler you use & it's size & where you mount it... Roughly, expect Prolly 30* cooler~. Jetting has so much to do with mods, altitude & weather conditions. Stock in a Warrior is a 145m & a 42.5p. Typically, you'll see guys jump one size on the pilot but I'm one size up right now & could definitely go up another, I'm at 45 for the record. You Prolly need a 150-155 on your main depending on the aforementioned circumstances. I'm at 152.5. Best thing you can do is just get a few jets & work on learning to read the plug & the engine.

Ya adding a cooler varies between 30 and 50 degrees. The bigger the surface area the better it will cool, along with your mounting area. It needs to see air to cool efficiently.

As far as jetting it depend on so many factors. Theres guys here running one size up to many sizes up. Warriorgirl actually had to go smaller on one she biult. Reading the plug is really the only way to know which way and how far you need to go. Im running a 150 on a stock engine, with a Big Gun Exhaust and open airbox with a uni and Im still a hair rich.

Well almost white is lean and black is rich. So basicly you want it toasty!! LOL Bad description, but if you search the net you can find perfect pics better than any of us can describe.

I'm runnin a 160main with a 45pilot an works great for me with my mods lot more fuel to keep the beasty engine abit cooler I'm not into drilling into my motor to make it cooler if that was the case they would have mounts or pre hook ups for an oil cooler personaly I won't do it

The reason there isnt is that yamaha never expected the warrior to have done to it what some of us do. Big Bear cooler setup will fit and bolts right on, but you can not run a direct shifter. Besides that it has been proven that the clutch cover cooler setups run a bit cooler than the big bear. Yours sound like the basic mods so you arent really in the need to cool it more. Though I think all should be, it would prevent so many smoked crank bearings on pretty much stock motors. People like Deadlast, 87warrior917 and anyone else running bored and/or stroked motors its pretty much mandatory for the longevity of the motor.
