I'm not sure if im going to put on a performance exhaust or not but i was wondering if any1 has suggestions on a pipe that isnt too expensive. and for the people who've already done this, how much did it cost to buy the pipe, rejet, and labour included. cause i would most likely take it to a shop. i just need an idea so i know what to look for and how much i need to save up.

thanks,
chris. [email protected]

well my Yoshi TRS cost me $700 canadian but that was with the stainless steel header pipe. A jet kit is about $40-50, as far as labour I have no idea man, I do everything myself. Installing an exhaust is pretty simple stuff, and the jetting isnt hard at all as long as you understand the different circuits of the carb and how they work. Hope this helps

When I got my HMF it was $220 shipped, and the shop charged $180 for labor to jet it, and another $70 for the jet kit. As I drove home I felt like I got raped in the ass, because the jetting cost me more than the damn exhast did. If you have some common sense and patience you should be able to get it jetted yourself in a few hours. It may seem time consuming to jet it yourself, but think about how many hours of work it takes you to make that $120-180 that the shop is gonna stick you with for 2 or 3 hours of simple labor. And chances are, you're going to do other mods eventually, and then you'll be draining your wallet for the shop to rejet it again. After paying the bill the first time I learned real quick how to rejet myself, it saved me money and i also made some money rejetting quads for other people.

Wait a minute.... wasn't it like a week ago that you said you weren't gonna do any mods because they weren't necessary? I love it, the bug has got you already. SO to answer your question. I spent 189 on my supertrapp IDS2 slip on, nice pipe and tuneable, but if I did it again I would go the few extra bucks to get an HMF. I got a saweeet deal on my powerbomb header for $75(thanks Pelphrey). Jet kit was $50, definitely learn to do it yourself. It will save you a ton of money, and it just feels good to do your own work. And I just got a pro flow style adapter with K&N filter and outerwares for $87 shipped.

"slamdam97" i did say that, but you guys kind of talked me into it. Lol, but im still not sure if im going to put one on or not. i just want opinions from other people on what kind of exhaust would be the best but not expensive. and also sounds good!! and to let you guys know, i did try a few wheelies on saturday but! i kind of chickend out and let off the gas. LOl, so next time ill definatly try it for real! =)

jetting takes 15 minutes.... its 4 bolts to get into the bowl and you remove and turn some things. (most likely only a pilot, fuel screw, and main)

do not!!! ever let a shop jet your warrior. it is so easy to jet!!

an hmf exhaust will work fine with no jetting and everything kept the same. only if you remove your lid will you need to jet. unless your factory jets are off for your area/elevation just slipping the hmf on will be jetted just fine.

the best full exhaust i have tried has been an fmf powercore with a hi flow header. it might have even put out more than my hmf with hi flow.

a slip on is good enough though. it really wakes the low end up and the stock header flows fine!

as far as jets go..... www.jetsrus.com

order one size up on the pilot and 2 mains. thats 15 bucks and you have everything you need.

jor5678 is my aim addy....if you need help just give me a shout.

thanks guys, i now have an idea of everything i need. im still thinking about it though. and i dont have aim, i have msn. thanks again.

IMO hmf is the best bang for your buck. it gives good bottom - mid and instant throttle response. plus its relatively cheap compared to other exhaust.

Get your self a Clymer manuel, for Yamaha Warrior, you won't have any problems working on Warrior any more. They show you haw to do every thing step by step.
