Please HELP! Major Issue this am on way to work.

So I made it to work this am no problem... I ride my 02 warrior to work EVERYDAY! RAIN OR SHINE. so I stopped had my morning cigarette and then I turned my key to click the power on and all of a sudden my wires in the front under the plastic looks like the ignition connector it completely melted! Can someone tell me what happened!? And what I can do to prevent it from happening again.

They all turned super bright red hot!

Sounds like a open wire is touching metal somewhere

Yes it was the positive red wire from the harness rubbing under the battery compartment and it wore out down to the frame overtime from hitting bumps! . Bought a new Harness from Caltric*Must be specific with Year! 02-04 or u won't get right connectors! Thank God I read up on it first. New harness fit PERFECT!!
